Jobs Description

  1. Undertake radiographic/imaging examinations, as required, in General, Emergency, Theatre, Mobiles and specialised areas.
  2. Maintain a high standard of Radiography Imaging in all modalities.
  3. Take part in “on-call” and sessional duties out of hours, on a rotational basis.
  4. Ensure local and national Radiation Protection guidelines are applied at all times, for the protection of patients, staff and general public.
  5. Apply principles of Justification and Optimisation to every examination undertaken.

  1. Be involved in the Equipment Quality Assurance Programme and
    ensure that all equipment faults and issues are recorded and monitored on the Radiology Equipment Database.
  2. Keep up to date of new developments in Radiology practice and
    service having regard to changes in statutory and voluntary services,
    including keeping record of any CPD as required under CORU
    registration.
  3. Ensure good communications within the department by appropriate
    means involving attendance at regular staff meetings.

  1. Maintain the standards of Safety laid down in “Safety, Health and
    Welfare at Work Act, 2005”. Under this act it is the duty of staff to take responsibility for their own safety and the safety of others which
    involves the reporting of accidents, dangerous occurrences and unsafe equipment.
  2. Carry out any appropriate duties, which may be allocated from time to time from senior staff, including Radiography Services Manager.

  • Possess a Bachelor Degree in Radiography.
  • Be registered, or be eligible for registration, on the Radiography Division of the Radiographers Register maintained by the Radiographers Registration Board at CORU. (https://www.coru.ie/) (assistance with registration provided to overseas candidates)
  • IELTS/OET English Language Test
